Currently, PyTone only looks for new songs when starting # it with the command line switch -r. To delete non-existing songs press # "u" when you have selected a directory holding the songs. I reported this same problem on the 5th. I'm not understanding your workaround though... what does it mean to "select a directory" ? I navigated into Filesystem/ and found the directory that used to hold the mp3's that are now gone, and hit 'u' both inside that directory and with the directory highlighted by the "cursor" with no results. I also hit 'u' after navigating into Albums/ inside the album and with the album highlighted and also had no results.
Hmm, the last thing should work (not the first one, because the reindexing works by checking all songs in the current "virtual" folder). Are you sure it didn't work. You could also just select the "[Songs]" virtual folder and then press "u". Does this work?
